Nursing Education

Access to care depends on the strength and stability of the local nursing workforce. Through targeted grant support, the CAMC Foundation is investing in nursing education as a long-term strategy to meet the unique challenges of our region.

These grants reduce financial barriers for students who often live, learn, and serve close to home and support clinical training and academic partnerships that prepare nurses for the realities of healthcare.

By investing in the workforce of tomorrow, today, the CAMC Foundation helps build a pipeline of skilled nurses who are more likely to remain in the communities that need them most.

The return on this investment is clear: improved access to care, stronger care teams, and a sustainable organization that ensures high-quality healthcare remains available across our communities and state for generations to come.

Community Giving

West Virginia American Water (WVAW)

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the WVAW team came together to support early detection, prevention, education, and those battling a breast cancer diagnosis. The community giving partnership included a ‘town hall’ that featured survivor testimonies for all WVAW employees, along with an onsite visit from the Vandalia Health CAMC Medicine in Motion mobile mammography unit for employees and community members to be screened.

Employees that elected to contribute to the fundraiser were matched by the company and gifts were made by vendors and business partners of the organization as well. Together, WVAW secured more than $45,000.00 in 2025 to help support the CAMC Breast Center and provide transportation assistance to patients in care there. Since becoming a community giving partner, WVAW has contributed more than $120,000.00 to the CAMC Breast Center!
